Scott Walker Begs CPAC for Money in Keynote

Scott WalkerNEWS IN BRIEFS:  Tonight, Governor Scott Walker took time off worrying about the recall election he is facing in Wisconsin to deliver the keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).  Walker exuded confidence to the friendly crowd, while he boasted about the issues that has caused his state so much division.

Walker was one of many Wisconsin conservatives speaking at the convention who inferred that his state was where the front lines of the conservative battle to take the country over were being fought.  After his obligatory invoking of Ronald Reagan and his required discussion of his family, Scott spent most of his speech boasting his perceived achievements and demonizing unions.  Explaining, “Collective bargaining is not a right! Collective bargaining is an expensive entitlement.”  Scott showed that the voices of the million signatures who petitioned to recall the governor were not heard by him.

Towards the end of his speech, he seemed to have switched into telethon mode as he talked of his needs for financial support from the conservative crowd.  He plugged his website, explained how people could donate through text to his campaign, and even started talking about how every dollar would help ending his begging, “anything, anything big or small, one dollar, one dollar could pay for another phone call or another flyer.”

With a crowd of friendly conservative, Walker’s telethon is sure to get their pledges.  With the recall election soon to be scheduled, Walker has raised millions in the past few months from likeminded union busters.
